Is this a good team of all-time hockey players from Quebec?
Goal, Patrick Roy of Quebec City. Center, Jean Beliveau of Trois-Riveres. The rest are all from the city of Montreal: Right wing Maurice Richard, left wing Luc Robitaille, and defensemen Guy Lapointe and Ray Bourque. The toughest calls were at right wing, with Mike Bossy, Yvan Cournoyer, Bernie Geoffrion, Rod Gilbert, Guy Lafleur, Jean Ratelle and Martin St. Louis; at center, with Guy Carbonneau, Bill Cowley, Marcel Dionne, Gilbert Perrault, Henri Richard and Denis Savard; and in goal, where even I, a Devils fan, still can't put Martin Brodeur ahead of Roy, nor can I put Bernie Parent, Jacques Plante, Georges Vezina or Gump Worsley ahead of him. Mario Lemieux sided with the owners and betrayed the players in the lockout, so he's ineligible. If there were an all-time all-star game between the greatest Quebecois players and the greatest from English Canada, it would be a sight to see.
