Why do schools make a deal out of students with the Confederate Flag, BUT not with the Mexican American Flag?

The Confederate flag is a symbol of the south during the civil war and can mean pro-slavery. It continues to be a symbol for white supremacy and racism. It has more meaning that just pro-South. The Mexican flag is just a countries flag.
